ABOUT OUTLAW PUNK
This is the podcast to introduce crunched-up straw hats and shit-kick'n Cowboy to the spiked wristbands and green hair punks.
Up Colfax Avenue, from Larimer Street near Jack Kerouac stomping ground is where the beginnings of Outlaw Punk began. The 15th Street Tavern, home to the LoDo Slammers, serves up cold beer and a great heaping of Punk bands. Being from Texas and spending time in Honky Tonk junks, it was enjoyable to step away from the dull pop of country to the rocking Punk culture. Just think Hank Williams taking a slide from traditional country but did not dance away from the cowboy swing.
Outlaw Punk serves as a guide to small but emergent sounds of alt country, Cowboy Punk, Rockabilly, Southern Rock and other genres of music that highlight the gritty side Country music.
